A brief overview of my design education and career as told by the trail of trademarks left behind me.
(Click on the symbols for a brief chronicle of my experiences at each organization.)
I studied at The Ohio State University during a time when the design world was transitioning from t-squares and technical pens to computer-aided design.
Visual Re-Brand | When I entered college, the OSU mark was comprised of interconnecting duo-line lettering. By the time I graduated, the school’s trademark transformed from sporty track suit to gray flannel suit.
At Noel Mayo Associates, I worked on print and EGD (environmental graphic design) projects. I was allowed to experiment with a variety of software and hardware and became adept at using the computer as a production tool.
I worked at NBBJ as a member of the EGD team. I gained more insight regarding architerctural design and the building industry.
Visual Re-Brand | During my time at NBBJ the firm changed its identity to less formal, sans-serif letters. It was yellow for about a month, then tweaked to orange.
As part of the EGD team at Karlsberger, I developed interior and exterior architectural graphic design systems. Working under the same roof as architects, interior designers, landscape architects facilitated comprehensive solutions for our clients.
Visual Re-Brand | The Karlsberger trademark consisted of a letter “K” inside a box. As part of a visual re-brand, we changed the mark to a lighter, fresher letter “K” inside a box.
